Free Crochet Baby Crocs Pattern - Updated

I have improved and updated this pattern. It is still free, but is now written much like a paid pattern. Please consider a donation.  http://craftcove.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/donations.html

I have been asked several times for the pattern to make these baby crocs.

SO HERE THEY ARE!

Want this as a printable pdf? Get it here

This pattern is given for free, but of course I would love it if you would donate something for the time I've put into this for you.

You can do what you want with the finished piece, apart from mass production.  But the pattern itself is mine and cannot be sold or shared without my permission.

There is another size that I still have to fix up the pattern for.

  1. I made a pair from your pattern and they came out so adorable! https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/p480x480/970240_623466987677112_1578511883_n.jpg

  2. I love the look of these little booties and am trying to crochet a pair right now! However, I can't seem to make the pattern match up. Round 3 adds up to 40 stitches instead of the indicated 38. The following round then adds up to 39! Am I missing something? Is there perhaps a misprint? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. You could be right. Adding up the written instructions does seem to add to 40. I had notes all over the pattern as I was working it out, and I may have typed some bits in wrong. I haven't made it again since, so I can't be sure.

Just continue the way you are going, I'm sure it will work out right.

  3. Jenny help lol! I'm an average crocheter and I'm trying these crocs right now. I'm stuck on round 5. I don't see where you slip stitch at the end of the rowe from this point and forward. Please help.

    1. You need to slip stitch to join the end of the row to the start of the row. Looks like I forgot to write it in the instructions. I'll fix that soon.

  6. Hello Jenny,
would it be ok, if I also share your pattern on my blog? I would like to make a translation to my language (slovak)?. I will post a link to your page and also to your FB. Here is my blog..http://slnkomzaliate.blogspot.cz/. Do you know that your pattern is available on Etsy? I bought it there, then I found out, that it is identical with yours.

    1. Certainly, it would be a great idea to translate it. I wonder if you could send me a copy as well. Then I can add it to Ravelry.

I wonder if the Etsy one is actually the same. Crocs have been around for a long time, and people crochet everything. But I'll have a look, thanks

  7. hey jenny,
i am still new at this crochet stuff and was wondering how i could make these in a few bigger sizes without messing up the pattern??

    1. This is a free pattern so I'm not spending much time on help for this. But I can say a thicker yarn and bigger hook would work. Some people just use a bigger hook. Otherwise you'd have to change the pattern slightly.

  8. Hi jenny love your work, great job! I will like to make these for a baby 0 to 3 months with a 10 ply wool yarn, what should I do?

  9. What is a trtog? 4x?

    ReplyDelete
  10. It's 2 treble together, x4

Work 2tr, keeping the last loop on the hook, then go through all the loops. Do this 4 times.

  11. Hi! Thanks so much for the awesome free pattern!! Just wondering approx what size these work up to be if we're follow your hook & yarn size as per your pattern?? I've been trying to find a free toddler sized pattern and it's been much harder then i thought it would! 💎 Either way though, these are awesome!!! 💜💎💌

  12. Hi Jenny, I tried the baby crocs crochet pattern twice. Each time the croc comes out way too big for 0-3 months size and look more a regular bootie. I am using Caron Simply Soft yarn with 4mm hook.

    1. Simply soft is a 10 ply. this pattern uses 8 ply. Or DK in USA. You could also try a smaller hook, that might even do the trick

    2. Hi. Make sure you are following Australian / British terminology. Here DC means Single Crochet. If you make a mistake and do Double Crochet it will be too big!
Thanks for the brilliant free pattern. It was easy to use. Just finished 1st one - now to do the other one for the pair.

  13. I’m expecting my 4th grandchild in late April and the parents are crocs fanatics, so I want to make a pair of little baby ones for them, I have never made anything in crochet before but I’m so interested and excited to try, I hope mine will be so beautiful as yours!
