Quilling
Sometimes I need a break from a particular craft.
I had enough of crochet for a while.
now it's time for quilling.

PAPER QUILLING
Paper quilling is now available. This is just a few of the samples currently available. Even more styles will be coming soon.
Quilling is made entirely with paper. Thin strips of paper are curled and shaped, then made into a design.
Being made of paper makes them very light and delicate looking, but they are actually very strong. All of my jewellery is coated several times to give them a little bit of shine, and to make them even stronger.

Beading Hiatus
I've had trouble with sore wrists and pins and needles in the hands. So I haven't done an awful lot of beading or crafts lately. I'm going to be tested for carpal tunnel syndrome in February, hopefully whatever it is can be fixed.
I'm going insane not doing a lot of my usual stuff though, so I might do some quilling again. It's still using the hands, but maybe it may use different muscles and not be such a problem. I didn't take photos of a lot of my previous quilling, so this will be a good opportunity to get more images listed.
For those that don't know what quilling is, it's working with tiny bits of paper to form 3d objects. Most often very fine strips of paper are rolled up, but sometimes larger pieces are folded and glued. The finished pieces are often used for scrap-booking, and they can create very interesting greeting cards.

Quilling fun with paper
Quilled flowers |
Just for something different, I thought I would show that I can actually do quilling as well. For those that don't know what quilling is, it's a craft that uses paper to create all sorts of 3 dimensional objects. Often 2 or 3mm strips of coloured paper are curled and shaped into desired shapes and glued together to make the objects, other times the objects are made by folding and/or cutting paper to create the items.
As usual I gave all my quilling away without taking photos. This one was given as a mothers day card for my Mum last year, she framed it. So I got her to get it out of the frame and get a photo. So here it is. I put a lot of work into it, so I really did need a pic of it. There were 4 layers of flowers in this card, and because Mum loves all sorts of flowers and lots of color, I tried to get everthing into it.
I'll have to see if I can get other photos of other things I've made for people as well.
